Mommy is Daddy No More

So, as it turns out, the out-loud musings and ironic observations that provided me with entertainment as I fed, changed and bathed my child each day were, while amusing, not the best method to teach a kid to talk. This became clear when one of Elliot's friends, who is just a few months older than Elliot, was talking about blasphemy while Elliot was blowing raspberries and wondering who the heck this mommy person everyone kept talking about was. So I mended my ways. Instead of pithy comments, I narrated, narrated, narrated ("mommy take Elliot out", "mommy put juice in elliot's cup" and so on). This is the result. I am officially mommy. Cue the jubulation and celebratory milkshakes.

I do the out-loud musings and the ironic observations when I'm dealing with young children as well... good to know I should drop that for my kid :)
