Graduation

It's official. Chris has graduated from law school. He is now Christopher W. Patton, Esq. (Well, technically he is Christopher W. Patton, Not Yet Admitted to the Bar -- but who's counting). Here are a few highlights from the day's celebrations:
  1. The instructions that came with Chris's gown. They said (and I'm completely serious about this), "Upon receiving your gown and academic hood, you'll want to put it on and admire your distinguished and refined look. Once the gown is on, the proper wearing of the hood is an essential part of the overall prestigious look." Needless to say, I could barely drag Chris away from the mirror (note the sarcasm).
  2. During the passing out of the degrees, there was a Jeremy Sunburn followed by a Vanessa Sunshine. If that isn't a match made in heaven, I'm not sure what is.
  3. Getting to take turns with Chris's parents wandering the halls with Elliot, while jealously observing Elliot's friend Kennedy, who sat happily on her mother's lap for the ENTIRE three hours.
  4. Knowing that now we actually have to start paying back our student loans.
  5. Feeling incredibly proud of my incredibly amazing husband. What a stud.

Elliot at the end of a very long day.
(I bet Kennedy didn't do this.)

Congratulations Chris!! We're so so so happy for you guys! What an accomplishment. I hope you guys have a wonderful summer before the job starts this fall. That picture of Elliot and his sad face is so cute! I want to kiss his little cheeks!

(And that's hilarious about Jeremy Sunburn and Vanessa Sunshine!)

Congratulations to the family! I know this was a full effort from not only Chris, but you and Elliot as well. Must feel great!

Congratulations!! Are you staying in DC? The Sunburn/Sunshine was definitely a highlight, and remember, busy, high-maintenance children are smarter than all those mild-mannered kids... at least that's what we can tell ourselves, right?

You'd think Sacrament Meeting would train kids to sit still for longer periods...not true.

Congrats to Chris!

I thought I was the only on with the kid who needed to be "walked." I swear kids are more like little cute puppies at this age.

And no, I'm no in D.C. proper, but I'm definitely close enough. You, Rachel and I should all get together sometime soon.

oh, and p.s., if Kennedy really was that good for three hours, I would recommend sniffing her juice. It had to have been spiked with some kind of sedative, for sure.

Congratulations Chris. That is a big accomplishment. I am very proud of you. Knowing you, I bet you don't have too many problems with your bar exams. What a smart fella. Wishing you great success. Love and appreciate you. Grandma Killpack
