Our Son, The Bully

This morning Elliot and I went with a friend and her 1-year-old son, Christopher, on an errand. It all started out pleasantly enough. We got the boys buckled into their carseats, got the radio turned on and even managed to head in the right direction. That, however, is where the fun ended. Suddenly, Christopher was screaming and I turned around to find him clutching a bloody, tooth-marked finger and staring at Elliot--my teeny, tiny 7th percentile baby--with nothing less than a look of utter terror. That's right. Elliot bit Christopher. In fact, bit is probably too mild a term. He chomped Christopher. He gnawed Christopher. He tried to eat Christopher.

And what was Elliot's response to the whole thing? He just stuck his thumb in his mouth and turned his big, innocent eyes toward me and gave me a look that said clear as day, "I didn't do it."

Can you believe this kid is a bully?

Not to be mean, but I really love when mothers experience for the first time that their kid can be mean too.

I hate when Daniel or Landon does something and the mother looks at me like, "I can't believe you, you incompetant mother! MY child would NEVER do that!"

Don't worry, it only gets worse.

hahahaha! I know what you mean. I think this is one of those things that if your child doesn't do this, you're not a true parent. It sucks. Welcome to the club.

Let's not be too hasty now...I mean, how much do we know about this Christopher kid, really?? Certainly our sweet angel, Elliot, must have been provoked. :)
Just to be safe though, you might want to consider introducing meat into his diet to ward off any further attacks.

Oh my goodness, chewing on his friend who is probably no longer his friend. However, i did have to laugh. Sorry....It is so fun to go on and see the new things he is doing and something about you guys as well. I really enjoy it. Elliot is a really cute little guy. He is growing into a real person. Fun to hear about him. Gk

He drew blood? Ouch! These kids and their teeth. Good luck with that. Gavin is almost 3 and still occasionally bites (usually his sister), so I have no advice, only empathy.
