Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Dear Weather Gods-

If you send us one more day of rain, we won't share our cookies with you. Seriously.

Eating Sand, Take Two

Remember this post?

Well, I thought we'd moved on from there. Leaps and bounds beyond. Elliot no longer ate lint off the carpet, no longer put shoes in his mouth, and even stopped chewing on his toys.

Turns out I was wrong. Today, during a quick jaunt to the playground, I turned around and caught Elliot shoving fistfuls of sandbox sand into his mouth. Fistfuls of dirty, NY city playground sand.

Really?!

I guess I should credit the kid with some progress. After a few good chews, he did conclude that it was "yucky" and spit it out.

A word of advice: You'll feel a lot better about all this if you don't stop to wonder how many rats have used that sand as their litter box. Trust me on that one.

Elliot and Jack

Elliot's friend Jack came over to play the other night. They had a blast (though the same probably can't be said of our neighbors...)

Happy Birthday!

Elliot is officially two! My family came into town from Connecticut yesterday to help us celebrate.

Highlights included:

1. The totally amazing Lightning McQueen cake Jill decorated for him. Ka-chow!
2. Elliot's dinner of hot dog and eggo waffles--eaten while watching Cars (because on your birthday you get to do what you want!)
3. The Central Park Zoo
4. 80 degree weather
5. Elliot being afraid to blow out his candle (maybe I've emphasized the danger of 'hot' too much?) and Uncle Josh stepping in to save the situation.
6. Elliot eating so many "E" sugar cookies that he got indigestion.
7. Getting to see Aunt Tamarra who is just back from a semester in Isreal.

Good Weather = Happy Boy

Picture from Chris and Elliot's outing to Sheep's Meadow in Central Park last week.

And to think, this time last year he was afraid of grass.
